Repeatable protocol
Take the same four photos every time.
Consistency matters more than perfection. Use the same room, lighting, camera, hair state, and rough distance whenever you can.
1
Front hairline
Camera level with the brow, face straight ahead. Keep the full hairline and both temple corners visible.
2
Temples
Take one photo for each side at the same slight angle. Avoid changing how tightly you pull hair back between sessions.
3
Top
Camera above the head, centered on the mid-scalp. Use a repeatable part and keep hair dry unless your baseline was wet.
4
Crown
Camera over the vertex with the crown centered. Do not tilt toward the light to make density look better or worse.
LightingDiffuse, even light. Avoid direct flash and harsh downlights if you can.
DistanceMark where you stand and roughly where the phone sits. Use the same lens.
CadenceUse a repeatable schedule rather than reacting to one unusually good or bad day.
